The NSDL in cooperation with the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) commenced yesterday the distribution of food kits on impoverished families and families damaged by the war.
On his part, Omar shaban, the CRS director in the Gaza Strip, explained that the distribution of food kits in Rafah comes in the context of an emergency relief program the CRS in implementing in the Gaza Strip, which aims to alleviating the suffering of poor and damaged people.
Ibraheem Moammar, head of board of the NSDL, explained that the the project includes also many programs such as supporting housewife’s homemade products, psychological support and guidance and rehabilitation of community facilities.
Moammar said that the project concentrated on the Mawassi sea region targeting fishers there due to what they suffer of hard circumstances. Moammar commended the relationship between the NSDL and the CRS hoping that it may increase.
Kamal Subeh, CRS coordinator in southern Gaza Strip, explained that the distributed kits contained food, hygiene material and clothes. He hoped that these aids may contribute in drawing smile on the faces of the impoverished and the damaged.
