Concluded by the NSDL, in cooperation with the Palestinian Center for Human Rights day training course in the field of human rights. Which was held in the Assembly Hall, in the period between the 6-28 – 2/7/2009, for a period of 5 consecutive days, with 20 hours of training, and participated in the session and the participation of 24 participants, representing 11 community-based institution in the province of Rafah.

Program included training session on a number of international agreements in the field of human rights: the International Bill of Human Rights three components (the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenants on economic, social, cultural, civil and political rights), the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women In addition, topics: the rule of law and independence of the judiciary, political participation in the democratic system and gender.

Supervised training sessions to manage a team of trained professionals from within the Center, are: Bassam Aqrah director of the Training Unit, Sharif Abu Nassar, a lawyer in the Legal Unit, Magda Shehada, a researcher at the Women’s Unit, Salah Abu Hatab, the activist community.

Concluded the session Aqrah Bassam, Director of the Training Unit at the Center, explaining that the session aimed to give participants and participants with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of human rights. Aqrah and asked participants to transfer what they have learned in the session to their colleagues and their female colleagues in the institutions that are active. Stressing that the center doors open to the community institutions to cooperate in the dissemination of a culture of human rights and democracy among the various segments of society.

It also praised the participants and the participants in the effort undertaken by the NSDL in the service of young people and interest them and equip them with new information in the field of human rights, and called for the organization of other courses in the province of Rafah, in view of its importance in raising awareness of human rights in society, and praised the training methods used in various training sessions and contributed to the enrichment of the atmosphere and the rule of fruitful discussion and effective participation.
