Rafah is the only border between Gaza Strip and Arabic countries, and since Israel closed the crossing on the Gaza Strip, evacuate PM 11/9/2005

This closure caused of thousands of students deprived of their right to access to universities abroad.

The closure led to grave violations of Palestinian citizens in the right of having health care through the inability of patients to access treatment abroad.

In addition to the inability of citizens stranded on the Egyptian side to return to their homes in the Gaza Strip, particularly as we enter the holy month of Ramadan as the citizens of those inhuman conditions, particularly severe patients returning from treatment abroad.

Accordingly, we consider the National Assembly for Democracy and the law continued closure of Rafah crossing, a violation and in breach of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which stipulates in article 13 that “Everyone has the right to leave any country including own and to return back”

Therefore appeal to the international community and Arab prompt and rapid intervention in order to put pressure on Israel to force it to end the suffering of thousands of passengers stranded on both sides of the Rafah crossing.

Hence, we call on all institutions of local and international human rights to denounce Israel’s policy of anti-democratic and human rights, especially with regard to the Rafah crossing, and call upon the masses of our people to organize peaceful mass demonstrations demanding the right to travel and mobility as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
