National Society for Democracy and Law, represented by its chairman, Dr. Ibrahim Muammar, and its staff, received a delegation from Sawasya Programme, consisting of the new UNDP Chief Technical Specialist, Filippo di Carpegna, and the Project Management Analyst “UNDP/PAPP”, Wafaa AlKafarna.
Dr. Muammar widely welcomed the guests. After that, he started to talk about the main goals of the organization and its activities and events implemented within the framework of the project of” Protecting women’s life, rights and dignity in the Southern Gaza Strip”, funded by Sawasya, UNDP/UN Women/UNICEF Joint Programme: Promoting the Rule of Law in the State of Palestine.
Dr. Muammar added that it was necessary to continue carrying out such projects, since they aimed at enhancing the legal empowerment of the vulnerable categories in the Southern Gaza Strip.
The delegation met the executive director, Olfat Elbream, and the project coordinator, Hussam Jarghon, as well as the project lawyer, Suaad Almashni. They discussed the project phases, its implemented activities and its most important outcomes. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Filippo thanked the staff and highly appreciated their persistence in conducting the activities effectively. Not to mention that he praised what the legal clinic did to support the legal empowerment of the vulnerable groups in the Southern Gaza Strip.
