With coordination with mayors committee office in Rafah governorate , the legal aid staff held a workshop no.(3)on Wednseday,7th Sep.2011, in NSDL headquarter, in the presence of a large number of mayors, village leaders and tribal justice men . This is as a part of a series of specialized workshops will be conducted under the item of create an effective referral system in the frame of legal aid and empowerment for vulnerable groups in Gaza supported by UNDP and funded by Japan government.

Mr. Ibrahim Muammar began the workshop with a word of welcome for the attendance confirming the importance of mayors role in resolving family disputes and conflict. Also, expressing his thanks and appreciations to the officials of UNDP for their efforts in sponsoring this project, referred to the necessity for intensification for joint efforts to achieve justice for all, stressing that NSDL will continue its efforts towards the Palestinian community to achieve access to justice.

Mr. Emad El-Faqawi, in his role, administer the session providing a brief introduction about the legal aid project : its objectives and services provided on three levels: providing legal consultations, intervention and mediation and legal representation in front of the court for some cases.

He focused mainly on the theme of the workshop included some points such as who is the judge man? What are his duties toward citizens? and what is the power provided for him?

During the workshop, the legal aid staff delivered clocks printed with the project name to ensue spreading the idea of the project and expanding the geographical scope for the project.

At the end, mayors expressed their interests of joint cooperation with the team of legal aid within legal aid clinic no.(9) in order to achieve justice for all.
