The National Society for Democracy and Law (NSDL) organized a series of awareness raising workshops, under the umbrella of “Emergency Legal Assistance to the Affected People in Rafah Due to the 2014 War on Gaza Project”, supported by UNSP/PAPP, which provides legal aids to the vulnerable and the affected groups due to Gaza war 2014, which comes within the series of legal aid projects, which established Legal Aid Clinic No. 9 within. These workshops targeted 269 male and female people of the vulnerable and the affected groups due to Gaza war during the period from Oct. 19th to Oct. 23rd, 2014.

This series of workshops aims to provide legal aid to these groups and to illustrate the followed legal procedures in order to extract replacements of the lost evidential and personal documents for the affected and the destroyed houses, in addition to rights to inheritance, alimony, guardianship of orphan underage children who lost their parents during the last Israeli war on Gaza, divorce cases occurred within the war and how to overcome this phenomenon, and aware the people to their rights.

Mr. Hossam Jarghon –the project coordinator- opened whole the workshops welcoming the attendance and giving a brief introduction about the project and its main goals embodies in providing legal aid in its three forms (legal aid, legal consultation, legal and judicial representation) to the vulnerable and the affected people due to Gaza war in Rafah.

NSDL organized a workshop entitled “Rights of Women within Personal Status Law in the coordination with the United Cultural and Social Society, based in Al-Nasser neighborhood, 35 women of the vulnerable and affected groups due to Gaza war 2014 attended.

Mrs. Suad Al-Mashni –the advocate of Legal Aid Clinic No.9– led this workshop focusing on the concept of Personal Status Law, which aims to organize individual’s life with his/her family since birth to death, mirages are related to this law and its consequences including advanced  dower and deferred sum, divorce and its consequences including alimonies, and inherence.

Mrs. Al-Mashni led the workshop focusing on the concept of Personal Status Law, which aims to organize individual’s life with his/her family since birth to death, mirages are related to this law and its consequences including advanced dower and deferred sum, divorce and its consequences including alimonies, and inherence.

NSDL organized a workshop entitled “Rights of Women within Personal Status Law” in the coordination with the Al-Sahel Society, based in Al-Syamat neighborhood, 38 women of the vulnerable and affected groups due to Gaza war 2014 attended.

Mr. Belal El-Najjar –a volunteer advocate in the project– led this workshop focusing on the concept of Personal Status Law, which aims to organize individual’s life with his/her family since birth to death, mirages are related to this law and its consequences including advanced dower and deferred sum, divorce and its consequences including alimonies, and inherence.

NSDL organized a workshop entitled “Rights of Women within Personal Status Law in the coordination with Women Media Forum, based in Al-Balad neighborhood, 25 male and female journalists attended.

Mrs. Al-Mashni led this workshop focusing on the concept of Personal Status Law, which aims to organize individual’s life with his/her family since birth to death, mirages are related to this law and its consequences including advanced dower and deferred sum, divorce and its consequences including alimonies, and inherence.

Tuesday, Oct. 21st 2014 [10:00 AM – 12:00 AM]

NSDL organized a workshop entitled “Providing Legal Aids Legal Aid Clinic No.9 that targets farmers in Rafah in order to assess their legal needs, in the office of the society, 20 farmers attended.

Mrs. Al-Mashni stressed on the importance of the workshop, which include legal awareness rising generally, and then she talked about the legal aids the project provide, in addition to assessing the need of the farmers in other subjects related to Personal Status Law.

NSDL organized a workshop entitled “Post-war on Gaza 2014 Problems in the office of the society, 27 Mukhtars and reconciliatory figures from Rafah attended.

Mrs. Al-Mashni led the workshop talking about post-war affects, especially destroyed houses, leveled agricultural lands, martyrs, injuries, familial problems, and economic problems which aggravated after the war and led to the deterioration of the financial situation that led to problems between cables because of the inability of satisfy their basic familial needs.

The subject of the workshop focused on discussing post-war problems and the aggravation of suffering and communicating the attendance in order to provide legal aid to in social and familial problems that are in need to legal aid, and the attendance asked about  several problems they seek to solve with the aid of the society.

NSDL organized a workshop entitled “Rights of Women within Personal Status Law in Diwan of Dhair family, based in Musabbeh neighborhood, 57 women of the vulnerable and affected groups due to Gaza war 2014 attended.

Mrs. Al-Mashni led the workshop talking about post-war affects, especially destroyed houses, leveled agricultural lands, martyrs, injuries, familial problems, and economic problems which aggravated after the war and led to the deterioration of the financial situation that led to problems between cables because of the inability of satisfy their basic familial needs, and then Mrs. Al-Mashni talked about the concept of Personal Status Law, which aims to organize individual’s life with his/her family since birth to death, mirages are related to this law and its consequences including advanced dower and deferred sum, divorce and its consequences including alimonies, and inherence.
