On Sunday, (May 6, 2018), NSDL closed the first 5-meeting training course entitled “Building female leaders in the field of human rights”, which targeted 20 female community activists from Rafah.
The training course covered topics such as international human rights conventions, Women’s rights mentioned in the international human rights conventions, mechanisms of monitoring and documentation, international criminal court and transitional justice.
At the end of the training day, Dr. Ibrahim Muammar “NSDL chairman” welcomed the attendees and thanked the trainees for their commitment during the course. He emphasized on the importance of implementing such trainings in the Southern Gaza Strip, confirming that NSDL will continue enhancing human rights despite all of the challenges and obstacles.
Dr. Ibrahim rewarded Mr. Ashraf Thomas, director of training at OHCHR with an award plaque thanking him for his great effort of making the training successful. After that, he started rewarding the trainees with certificates. The trainees expressed their pleasure, gratitude and appreciation for NSDL for promoting human rights southern Gaza Strip and called for more similar trainings.
